Apple’s next flagship iPhones are expected to arrive very soon, and as of September 1, 2026, the picture around the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max is becoming much clearer.
Apple has officially confirmed a special event for September 9, 2026. The company has not yet publicly confirmed the final iPhone lineup, but multiple reliable reports point to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max being among the major products announced at the event.
For U.S. buyers, the biggest questions are now focused on three things: release timing, price and how big the hardware upgrades will be.
iPhone 18 Pro Release Date
The September 9 Apple event is official, but Apple has not yet announced the retail release date for the new iPhones.
Based on Apple’s normal launch pattern, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to reach U.S. stores on Friday, September 18.
Pre-orders would usually begin on the Friday immediately after the event. However, September 11 falls on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and reports suggest Apple could avoid opening pre-orders that day.
That has made Saturday, September 12 one of the more likely pre-order dates.

The iPhone 18 Pro series is widely rumored to introduce a variable-aperture main camera.
